December Has Arrived!

Hippity-hoppity, December Has Arrived

I hope this month has started out well for you. My kids are hopping around like chipmunks on Redbull, singing holiday songs and daydreaming about presents, while I keep thinking about all of the shopping I have NOT done yet due to finishing a book. (The key words there are “yet” and “finishing.”)

The Book Is Done!

GJS Ebook cover PQ

Ding dong, the witch is dead, the wicked … Wait! Wrong song. I’ll just go back to singing along with Bing Crosby and Elvis. No matter what you feel like singing this month, smile along with me as I toast to the end of the third book in my Jackrabbit Junction Series, THE GREAT JACKALOPE STAMPEDE.

The book will be released through ebook retailers on January 14, 2014. In the meantime, it is available for Pre-Order on Amazon. Here is the link if you want to grab a copy sooner rather than later: PRE-ORDER THE GREAT JACKALOPE STAMPEDE

Overview

Not since the Great Jackalope Stampede of ’58 has tumbleweed-choked Jackrabbit Junction, Arizona seen so much action. Claire Morgan is determined to unravel the mystery behind a stolen treasure before goons come gunning for it—and her family. But all the strangers roaming around town have her anxiety red-lining. Then her mother shows up …

Ann Charles’ Happy Holiday Fiesta

Did someone say “fiesta”? Yes, I did. You see, I was thinking about how I didn’t get to meet a bunch of my fun Facebook friends while on the road doing book signings this year, so I decided to throw an online fiesta this December 12th and 14th on Facebook. Now I know some of you probably aren’t fans of Facebook, but it’s the most common hang out location for my fans, so I decided to have the online party there. If you are on Facebook, come hang out with me and a bunch of my fun author friends for two days of chats, laughs, and fun giveaways all without ever having to leave your house. The dress code is whatever you want to wear. The menu will be whatever we can all find in your fridge to eat. Here are the links to the two days I’ll be having the party (I chose one week day and one weekend day to accommodate folks who are busy during the weekend or week).

Deadwood Shorts in Print

(Some of you saw this in the last newsletter, but many didn’t due to some problems we had with the newsletter fighting with our server.)

A couple of months ago, Amazon’s printed book division (CreateSpace) contacted me and asked if I’d like to work with them on getting my two “Deadwood Shorts” short stories available in print. I took them up on their offer and low and behold, Deadwood Shorts is now available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble for those of you who like to hold books in your hands.

DEADWOOD SHORTS
Available now on:

Barnes & Noble

Overview

From the multiple award-winning author of the DEADWOOD MYSTERY SERIES comes a short collection to entertain and add to the Deadwood fun!

SEEING TROUBLE-What kind of trouble do you get when you combine a chicken named Elvis, a locked diary, and a secret Violet Parker does not want share with her daughter? Check it out and see for yourself.

BOOT POINTS-It’s not really about the boots … or is it? Violet Parker’s history unfolds in this set of short tales about her famous purple boots, exposing skeletons from her past that she had tucked away deep in her closet.

In addition, several bonus short stories are included in Deadwood Shorts, along with a character interview of Violet Parker, a deleted scene from Nearly Departed in Deadwood, and series related illustrations.

*Special Opportunity – This 80+ page book has all of the contents from both “Seeing Trouble” and “Boot Points.” All of the images included are in color, just as they were in the ebook format. For those of you who buy a printed copy of this book, I would be happy to mail you an autographed book plate if you email me at reader@anncharles.com with the name to which you would like me to sign the book and an address where I should send the book plate. What is a book plate, you ask? It’s a sticker that I sign/personalize for you and then send to you to stick inside the cover of your book.

Wrap Up

Thank you for all of your support over the last year. Because of your kindness and support, I’ve been able to quit my day job and focus on writing full time. I hope this pays off even more in 2014 with more fun stories in ebook, print, and audio formats.

Have a wonderful holiday season!

♥ Ann
